HOW SOFTBALL IS ORGANISED

Gay softball’s governing body is International Pride Softball, formerly the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA), which says it was formed in 1977 and now counts 58 member cities and associations.

International Pride Softball (iPride) lists 58 member cities and associations across the United States and Canada and more than 20,000 players, with play across seven divisions: A, B, C, D, E, Legends C and Legends D. Some of the city leagues in the table above name iPride or NAGAAA on their own sites; the body column shows it only where the league states it.

The Gay Softball World Series (GSWS) is iPride’s annual championship. Per the iPride tournaments page, the 2026 series was played in Columbus from August 30 to September 5, 2026, and the 2027 series goes to San Francisco, which iPride is billing as the 50th-anniversary GSWS. Dates for 2027 had not been published when we checked. The iPride Cup, a spring tournament for the A, B, Legends C and Legends D divisions, is scheduled for Kansas City in spring 2027.

Local leagues set their own season calendars. The table carries the season and fee each league publishes; where a league doesn’t publish one, the cell says so.
